Absolue Créations TIM-Revolution

The TIM-Revolution is an unbalanced analogue interconnect, terminated with RCA plugs, designed to link a source to a preamplifier or an integrated amplifier. Absolue Créations positions it at the top of its interconnect cable range: its purpose is to transmit the line-level signal while preserving the micro-information that highly resolving electronics are able to reproduce, without added colouration or artificial exaggeration of depth.

The design is built around a copper conductor of proprietary formulation, arranged in a multi-strand structure of 10 × 0.10 mm for a cross-section of 0.08 mm². Around this core, the insulation is built up in successive layers: teflon, tinned copper spiral providing 100% coverage, conductive carbon screen, then silk, silicone, PTFE and nylon. This layering of materials with differing dielectric and damping properties aims to limit parasitic pickup and mechanical resonances within the cable itself. The conductor diameter reaches 2.6 mm. The manufacturer also employs its RFA technology, described as a flux concentrator.

The Furutech FP-108 connectors, in OEM version, ensure contact with the equipment's terminals. On a line-level link, the quality and consistency of this contact directly determine the stability of the transmitted signal: a plug that loosens or oxidises results in audible losses well before the cable itself becomes an issue.

This type of cable is aimed at already well-developed installations, where the source and amplification have been carefully chosen and where the listener seeks to avoid losing any information in the links. It concerns attentive, seated listening on systems capable of reproducing nuances of level and timbre; on a modest system, investment in an interconnect of this calibre would bring no proportionate benefit. The TIM-Revolution is available in several lengths, from one metre to longer runs, allowing it to be adapted to the actual layout of the equipment rather than constraining it.
