Description
The Maximus NEO is a belt-drive turntable from Acoustic Signature, designed for playing 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records. It accommodates a 9-inch tonearm (one tonearm maximum) and operates with an integrated AC motor, paired with an external multi-voltage power supply.
The drive system relies on a speed-regulated belt, with fine speed adjustment via an integrated control panel, allowing precise adjustment of platter rotation. The turntable incorporates Level 1 AVC (Automatic Vibration Control) technology, designed to limit the vibrations generated by motor rotation, a factor that can otherwise affect groove tracking. The bearing uses a Dura Turn Diamond® bearing, a high-precision diamond-coated spindle, known for reducing mechanical noise and friction. The platter, made of anodised aluminium, has a diameter of 300 mm, a thickness of 34 mm and a mass of 5.8 kg, contributing to rotational inertia and stability. The whole assembly rests on a solid 30 mm-thick aluminium chassis, itself supported by 3 height-adjustable, gel-damped aluminium feet for levelling the turntable.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the drive belt, which is prone to ageing and losing elasticity, as well as the cleanliness and tightness of the Dura Turn Diamond® bearing beneath the platter. Examine the gel-damped feet, as the gel can harden over time and impair vibration isolation, and test the fine speed adjustment via the integrated control panel. A scratched anodised aluminium platter or a cartridge not originally supplied should also be disclosed before purchase.
