The Advance Paris Air 90 are active floorstanding speakers, meaning they carry their own amplification and do not need a separate amplifier to operate. Combined with a built-in Bluetooth receiver, they form a complete hi-fi system on their own, without complex wiring or additional electronics to install.
Each floorstanding speaker features 2 × 90 W of amplification, spread across a three-way configuration: two 13 cm woofers and a 25 mm tweeter. This layout allows a frequency range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz to be covered, with bass reproduction handled by the doubled-up woofer transducers. The wireless connection relies on aptX Bluetooth, a codec designed to limit quality loss during audio transmission compared with standard Bluetooth. What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the surrounds on both woofers: sagging or hardening of the foam surround indicates an aged unit and affects the bass performance advertised down to 40 Hz. Also inspect the cabinets of the speakers (knocks, veneer chips, foot fixings) and test the aptX Bluetooth pairing as well as the volume control on the auxiliary input to rule out any internal electronics issues.
