Description
The WTX-StreamTubes is a network player capable of operating over WiFi or ethernet. It gives access to the main streaming services on the market, to several thousand local, national and international radio stations via TuneIn or vTuner, as well as to the playback of files stored on a computer, smartphone, tablet or NAS network drive. Its multiroom function allows the same source or different sources to be broadcast in several rooms simultaneously.
Its distinctive feature lies in its valve output stage, built around Raytheon 5703 subminiature tubes operating in class A. This technical choice aims to bring a smoother, less aggressive sound to a dematerialised digital source, in the spirit of analogue playback. Digital-to-analogue conversion relies on a Burr Brown PMC1796 converter, compatible with 24-bit and 192 kHz, allowing high-resolution files to be reproduced. The unit also decodes numerous audio formats including FLAC, WAV, ALAC, APE and Apple Lossless. Connectivity includes a coaxial digital output, an optical digital output and a stereo RCA output, as well as a proprietary port for the optional addition of an Advance Paris Bluetooth dongle. The unit is Airplay and DLNA compatible, and is controlled via the free Advance Playstream app on iOS and Android.
