Description
The Supply Evo II is a separate power supply from M2Tech, designed to replace a standard power supply unit with a steadier, quieter source of current. It is aimed at digital audio devices with demanding power requirements, such as the Hiface Evo, whose performance depends directly on the quality of the current supplied.
At the heart of the unit is an integrated low-noise regulator, which limits parasitic frequencies liable to disturb the audio signal and manages the various power modes on offer. An advanced battery function also allows for use away from the mains, with a stated autonomy of seven hours, useful for avoiding disturbances linked to the domestic electrical network.
The power supply has two integrated outputs, allowing two compatible devices to be powered simultaneously. These outputs use Bulgin connectors, recognised for their mechanical strength and long-term durability.
This type of separate power supply is aimed at users already equipped with a digital audio device sensitive to power quality, who are looking to get the best from it by moving beyond the limitations of a standard mains power supply unit.
What to check before buying used
Check that the battery function still holds a proper charge: after several years, the stated seven-hour autonomy may be considerably reduced, or the battery may no longer work at all. Also check the condition of the Bulgin connectors on both outputs, in particular for any looseness or poor contact on insertion. Testing both outputs simultaneously will confirm that the low-noise regulator is working correctly on each channel.
