Description
The Eris 2 5.0 is a modular hi-fi rack from Atacama, designed to house the various components of an audio system across several levels. Each shelf, made of bamboo resin, sits on a pure steel frame, allowing you to organise a turntable, amplifier, player or other sources in a structured and stable assembly.
The distinctive feature of this stand lies in its isolation system. The steel frame is separated from the shelves by gel pads, while each module is decoupled from the next by three fully adjustable 8 mm carbon spikes. This double isolation aims to limit the transmission of vibrations from one level to another, a point that matters particularly for sensitive sources such as a turntable.
The rack is available with module heights of 150, 200 or 255 mm, allowing each level to be adapted to the size of the unit it needs to accommodate. It can hold up to 5 shelves, each supporting a load of 20 kg, for a width and depth of 590 x 550 mm.

What to check before buying used
The three carbon spikes on each shelf must turn freely to allow fine levelling adjustment: check that none is bent or seized from previous over-tightening. Also examine the gel pads between the steel frame and the shelves, which may have hardened or lost their elasticity over time, reducing vibration isolation. A visual check of the bamboo resin shelves is also needed to spot deep scratches, chipped edges or warping, and to confirm that the frame remains rigid with no play in the joints.
