Atacama Moseco

The Moseco is a speaker stand designed by Atacama to raise a compact speaker and stabilise it. It brings together two construction approaches drawn from the brand's Nexus i and Eris ranges: a load-bearing metal column and a base worked as much for its visual appearance as for its footing. It is therefore a stand intended for installations where the support remains visible in the room and contributes to the overall aesthetic.

The structure is built from three elements. The central column is made from thick steel, a material chosen for its rigidity and mass. The base is made from bamboo resin, a composite that provides a wide bearing surface and a warm finish. The assembly is held together with high-strength fixings, so as to limit play between the parts and maintain the stiffness of the assembly over time.

The column is hollow and can be filled: Atacama provides its Atabites, whose role is to add mass and damp the structure, with a targeted effect on bass reproduction. A set of four spikes is supplied with each stand for the interface with the floor. Each Moseco takes a maximum load of 8 kg, which defines its use: bookshelf and compact speakers, rather than heavy, large-volume models.

Several heights are available, from 50 cm to 100 cm, allowing the tweeter to be positioned at ear height depending on the listening seat and room layout. Finish variants are offered, with a white column and a bamboo base in a medium or dark shade, as well as a larger top plate, 16 x 22 cm, for speakers whose base overhangs the standard plate.

This stand is intended for the listener who uses compact speakers as a main system and wishes to avoid placing them on furniture, a source of resonance and incorrect listening height. It suits both a dedicated listening room and a living room, with the bamboo base allowing it to blend in without a purely technical look.
