Description
The Moseco XL is a speaker stand from Atacama, sold as a matched pair, designed to accommodate large bookshelf-style speakers. It is the flagship model in the Moseco range and stands out with a particularly sizeable carbon steel top plate, designed to hold speakers of substantial dimensions.
The top plate measures 5 mm thick, 200 mm wide and 275 mm deep, a large, rigid surface that provides stable support for the speaker. Four dome-shaped gel pads are supplied with each plate to protect and dampen the speaker placed on top. The structure rests on a three-pillar carbon steel configuration: two 50 mm diameter rear pillars combined with an oversized 75 mm front pillar, all finished in satin black. This design aims for maximum stability and can accommodate Atabite SMD 7.5HD filling inside the pillars, with two packs per stand generally sufficient to add mass and limit resonance. Excluding spikes and gel pads, the total height of the 520 mm model reaches 520 mm.

What to check before buying used
On a steel speaker stand such as the Moseco XL, it is worth checking the condition of the satin black paint on the pillars, which is prone to chips and scratches after handling. Also check the presence and condition of the four gel pads under the top plate, which can harden or come away over time, as well as the stability of the joint between the pillars and the base to rule out any mechanical play.
