Atacama's CC Series brings together stands designed specifically to hold a centre speaker, the element often placed directly on the floor or on a low piece of furniture in a home cinema setup. This type of stand allows the speaker to be positioned at the desired height and angle, rather than left resting directly on a piece of furniture.
The range comes in three references distinguished by the size of their plateau: the CC 01 with a 400 x 180 mm plateau, the CC 02 with a 475 x 210 mm plateau, and the CC 03 with a 550 x 250 mm plateau. This increasing sizing allows for centre speakers of different sizes to be accommodated, with a wider plateau offering a more stable base for a larger model.
These stands are aimed at home cinema enthusiasts wishing to neatly integrate their centre speaker into the living room, installing it on a dedicated stand rather than on the TV unit. What to check before buying used
Check the stability of the assembly once the speaker is placed on the plateau: chipped varnish or paint at the stand's contact points often reveals a previous toppling incident. Inspect the columns and bases for any play or cracks, particularly on models filled with sand or granulate, which may have been emptied and then poorly resealed. Finally, check for the presence and condition of the decoupling spikes or pads under the base, as well as the plateau covering, often finished in felt or velvet, which compresses or peels off over time.
