Description
The Serie SLX is a speaker stand designed by Atacama to accommodate both bookshelf speakers and floorstanding speakers. It is a dedicated stand, designed to raise speakers to the optimum listening height and decouple their base from the floor, rather than a standard piece of furniture or a shelf.
The range is available in seven different heights, from 20 to 100 cm, allowing the stand to be adapted to the room configuration, the type of speaker and the desired listening position. All models share the same base and the same top plate, only the height of the central tube varies from one reference to another.
The structure is made of thick steel, assembled with high-strength fixings intended to limit parasitic vibrations and ensure good rigidity of the whole. The tube can be filled using Atacama Atabites, an optional filling material allowing the mass of the stand to be increased and therefore its stability, a point that directly affects the quality of sound reproduction by reducing mechanical resonances.
The top plate measures 225 x 225 mm and the base 305 x 305 mm, for a maximum supported load of 15 kg. These dimensions determine compatibility with the size and weight of the speaker to be installed.

What to check before buying used
Check the stability of the central tube and the absence of play in the fixings between the base, the tube and the top plate, a sign of original tightening deteriorated by repeated handling. Examine the base and the top plate for signs of rust, impact marks or chipped paint on the steel, as well as the condition of the pads or decoupling spikes under the base. If the stand was supplied with Atabites, check that no filling material has leaked or remains lodged in the tube, which would distort the mass and therefore the stability of the whole.
