The GT2-HD is a 2-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker, designed and manufactured by the French brand Atohm. It belongs to a range in which all drivers and acoustic technology are developed in-house, without recourse to generic components.
The speaker features two 15 cm woofers (reference LD150CR04) tasked with covering the bass register up to the upper midrange, paired with a 2.7 cm silk dome tweeter (reference SD28ND04RD) operating over a wide band, with crossover frequencies at 150 Hz and 2.5 kHz. The first-order filtering, combined with time alignment of the tweeter, aims for phase coherence between the drivers for a precise sound image. Frequency response extends from 40 Hz to 30 kHz, with a sensitivity of 90 dB (2.83 V / 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. Power handling reaches 200 W RMS, or 400 W peak.

What to check before buying used
On these speakers, the suspension of the two 15 cm woofers (LD150CR04) deserves close inspection: sagging or hardening of the surround affects bass reproduction and can indicate damp storage. Also check the condition of the silk dome on the SD28ND04RD tweeter, which is very sensitive to accidental pressure, as well as the state of the bass-reflex port and the connectors on the rear panel. Finally, inspect the cabinet along the full height of the enclosure, particularly the edges and veneer, given the imposing size and weight of the speaker during handling.
