The GT1-HD is a bookshelf speaker from Atohm, designed in a 2-way configuration with Bass-reflex loading. Compact in format, it is aimed at music lovers seeking precise stereo listening without occupying the space of a floorstanding speaker.
It combines a 15 cm Atohm woofer/midrange driver (reference LD150CR04) with a 2.7 cm silk dome tweeter (reference SD28ND04RD). The crossover frequency is set at 2.5 kHz, with first-order filtering and time alignment of the tweeter, two elements aimed at ensuring coherence between the woofer/midrange and the treble. The stated frequency response extends from 45 Hz to 30 kHz, and a switch allows the frequency response to be adjusted according to the listening environment.
The sensitivity of 89 dB / 2.83 V / 1 m and the nominal impedance of 6 ohms indicate a load compatible with most common integrated amplifiers. The power handling reaches 100 watts RMS, with a peak of 200 W.

What to check before buying used
The surrounds of the 15 cm driver deserve a visual and tactile check: hardened, cracked or sticky foam or rubber indicates ageing that affects the bass. Also check the condition of the tweeter dome, prone to accidental dents, as well as the correct operation of the frequency response adjustment switch. Finally, inspect the cabinet and veneer of both speakers for knocks, signs of damp or lifting, particularly on the edges and around the bass-reflex port.
