Description
The WT STU is a set of connectors for speaker cables, designed by Atohm as a complement to its ZEF cable range. It allows users to fit a cable themselves with interchangeable terminations, choosing between a banana plug or a spade depending on the sockets available on the amplifier or speaker.
The set includes a single body and two distinct tips, one banana and one spade, which screw onto this body interchangeably via a thread. This design allows the type of termination to be changed without having to re-crimp or reconnect the cable, with a simple screwing operation being enough to switch from one to the other. The body attaches to the cable by means of two set screws, a solder-free mounting method, compatible with cable sections up to 6mm². All conductive parts, both body and tips, are made of OCC copper and receive a genuine silver plating, two features sought after to limit signal losses at connection points.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the thread connecting the body to the tips, which should screw and unscrew without forcing or play, as well as the secure hold of the set screws fixing the body to the cable. A visual check of the silver plating is also recommended, as this may tarnish or oxidise slightly over time without this necessarily affecting the quality of the electrical connection.
