Description
The IN100 Signature is a stereo integrated amplifier from Atoll electronique, designed and made in France. Its dual-mono design relies on discrete components and aims for a signal reproduction that is natural, precise and dynamic, without resorting to integrated circuits in the critical stages.
The unit delivers a power output of 2 × 100 W into 8 Ω, rising to 2 × 180 W into 4 Ω, allowing it to retain dynamic headroom when driving speakers that are more demanding in terms of current. This power reserve is supported by a dual-mono power supply made up of two 340 VA toroidal transformers, 680 VA in total, paired with a filtering capacitance of 31,474 µF. The power stage is built around MOSFET transistors arranged in push-pull configuration and operating in class A/B, a topology valued for its balance between linearity and efficiency.
On the connectivity side, the IN100 Signature offers five RCA inputs as well as a By-Pass input, which allows it to be integrated into a home cinema system, driven from an external processor with the amplifier then acting as a simple power stage. Optional DAC and phono cards can be added, and the unit features MKP-type coupling capacitors.

What to check before buying used
On this dual-mono integrated, it is worth checking for the absence of background noise, hum or crackling on the potentiometer and input selectors, symptoms indicative of worn capacitors or contacts. The large toroidal transformers should remain silent even under heavy load, with no vibration or abnormal heating. Checking that the MOSFET stage is working correctly on each channel, as well as the DAC or phono cards if the unit is fitted with them, rules out any power imbalance between the channels.
