Description
The IN80 Signature is a stereo integrated amplifier designed and manufactured in France by Atoll electronique. It brings together on a single chassis the preamplification and power stages required to drive a pair of speakers directly, without any additional electronics.
The power stage is based on a push-pull MOSFET topology, powered by a 340 VA toroidal transformer. This architecture delivers 2 × 80 W into 8 Ω and 2 × 120 W into 4 Ω, providing dynamic headroom when driving less easy-to-drive speakers. Volume is adjusted via an ALPS motorised potentiometer, renowned for its precision and longevity.

What to check before buying used
The ALPS motorised potentiometer should turn smoothly without any jerking or friction noise throughout its travel, and its power-on memory function is worth checking. An inspection of the inductors and capacitors in the MOSFET stage is advisable after several years, as is checking for any hum from the toroidal transformer. Each RCA input, the By-Pass, both Pre-Out outputs and the headphone output should also be tested, as these connections are prone to oxidation over time.
