Description
The Audeze MM500 is an open-back circumaural headphone with planar magnetic transducers, intended for professional use in a mixing studio. Its design aims to offer faithful signal reproduction for extended listening sessions.
The 90 mm planar transducer relies on a Fluxor™ magnet array combined with Fazor™ phase management, two technologies unique to Audeze that contribute to an extended frequency response of 5 Hz to 50 kHz. The ultra-thin Uniforce™ diaphragm and N50 neodymium magnets contribute to fast transient response. Maximum SPL exceeds 130 dB, with harmonic distortion below 0.1% at 100 dB SPL at 1 kHz, reflecting good linearity even at high sound levels.
With a sensitivity of 100 dB/1mW and an impedance of 18 ohms, the MM500 can be driven by a wide range of sources, provided a recommended power above 250 mW is available to make full use of its capabilities. The maximum admissible power is 5W RMS.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, you should check the condition of the leather ear pads, which are prone to wear and compression over time, as well as the flexibility of the spring steel headband. The supplied braided cable should be inspected at the connectors, and the integrity of the aluminium structure deserves careful examination, particularly at the ear cup pivot points.
