Audiolab 6000A MK2

The Audiolab 6000A, a well-known model among hi-fi enthusiasts, evolves into an MKII version. Its main change concerns the addition of an HDMI ARC input, a connection that allows sound to pass from the television to the amplifier. Unlike the traditional optical connection, this technology also allows the amplifier's volume to be controlled directly from the television's remote control, thanks to the HDMI CEC function. As this input becomes standard on current audio devices, the 6000A MKII thus aligns with the common practices of those wishing to easily pair their television with their hi-fi system.

Beyond this input, the digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) has also undergone a notable overhaul: a newer chip now allows playback of files up to 768 kHz in 32 bit, and the power supply has been redesigned to improve sound quality. The power output remains unchanged, at 2x50 watts into 8 ohms (2x70 watts into 4 ohms according to the technical specifications). The strengths of the previous generation are retained: analogue volume control, a dedicated MM phono input for turntables, additional analogue inputs and Bluetooth. The device can also still operate as a preamplifier only or as a power amplifier only.
