AudioQuest NRG Tornado 2m

The NRG Tornado is a mains cable from AudioQuest, designed to connect an audio or video component to the mains power supply. It forms part of a range of high-end mains cables designed to limit the disturbances that can affect the audio signal even upstream of the electronics.

Its conductors combine Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) and Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), two grades of very high-purity copper. This combination aims to limit interaction between strands, a source of transient intermodulation distortion, and to reduce distortion caused by grain boundaries present in any metal conductor. The cable also incorporates AudioQuest's Ground Noise-Dissipation technology, designed to address radio-frequency noise picked up by the earth wire, which can otherwise propagate directly into the most sensitive audio and video circuits of a system. AudioQuest also controls the directional structure of the conductors in order to steer this noise away from sensitive circuits.

This mains cable is aimed at hi-fi or home cinema systems where the user is looking to address electrical interference upstream of the electronics, particularly on already demanding installations where the quality of the mains supply can affect sound quality.
