AudioQuest Pearl 48

The Pearl 48 is an HDMI cable from AudioQuest's 48 Gbps series, designed to transfer high-bandwidth audio and video signals between a source and a television, AV receiver or soundbar. It is part of the eARC-Priority range, designed to preserve sound quality as much as picture quality in a connected home cinema or hi-fi setup.

Its long-grain copper conductors are direction-controlled, a technique aimed at limiting radio-frequency noise picked up by the cable, particularly that coming from Wi-Fi, cellular or satellite networks, which can otherwise degrade the transmitted signal. The cable supports up to 48 Gbps of bandwidth thanks to four balanced audio/video pairs each capable of reaching 12 Gbps, allowing video to be transmitted up to 10K resolution and at rates of up to 8K/60 and 4K/120, while remaining backward compatible with existing 4K devices. On the audio side, the conductors dedicated to eARC benefit from the same materials and noise-dissipation technology as the video pairs, to transmit uncompressed high-resolution multichannel audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD, ATMOS, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X.

This cable is intended for home cinema or hi-fi installations demanding in terms of bandwidth and sound quality, particularly where the system relies on an eARC connection between the television and an amplifier or soundbar. It is suitable for recent setups incorporating HDMI 2.1 equipment and seeking to make full use of the audio and video capabilities offered by this standard.
