AudioQuest SureGrip 500

The SureGrip 500 is a spade connector designed to fit the end of a speaker cable, replacing a bare termination or a banana plug. It attaches to the cable without soldering, thanks to a proprietary system, and then screws onto the amplifier or speaker terminals to ensure a stable and durable contact.

The attachment relies on the Cold-Weld process, a cold-soldered connection that avoids the need for a soldering iron while guaranteeing a solid mechanical grip on the conductor. The connector's internal conductors are made of copper and beryllium, an alloy chosen for its conductive qualities, and the whole unit receives direct gold plating on the contact as well as an ABS cap for mechanical protection. The connector accepts speaker cables up to 6.6 mm² in cross-section, which covers most hi-fi cables of common to large diameter, and an Allen key as well as a Phillips screwdriver are supplied to carry out the fitting.
