Description
The AT-LP140XP is a fully manual turntable designed for DJ use or demanding listening, fitted with a high-torque direct-drive motor and a damped die-cast aluminium platter to limit resonance. It plays vinyl records at the three standard speeds, 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm, and connects to any phono input via its detachable RCA cable.
The statically balanced S-shaped tonearm is adjustable for height and tracking force, with an adjustable dynamic anti-skate control, to keep the stylus correctly positioned in the groove. Quartz-controlled speed variation allows a pitch of ±8%, ±16% or ±24%, complemented by a strobe-marked platter and a speed indicator for precise calibration. Forward and reverse playback along with speed lock round out the mix-oriented features. The turntable is supplied with an AT-XP3 DJ cartridge pre-fitted to a removable AT-HS6 headshell, featuring a 0.6 mm conical stylus tip and a carbon-fibre-reinforced ABS cantilever, for an output voltage of 5.5 mV and a recommended load impedance of 47,000 ohms.

What to check before buying used
The supplied AT-XP3 cartridge warrants a check of stylus wear, particularly if the turntable has been used for intensive mixing or scratching. Also check that the tonearm height adjustment, dynamic anti-skate control and speed lock all function correctly, along with the stability of the quartz pitch across the three ±8/16/24% ranges. Testing the start/stop function and forward/reverse playback confirms that the direct-drive motor responds smoothly.
