What to check before buying used
The open-back circumaural earpads and headband padding compress over time: check their suppleness and the absence of cracking, bearing in mind this model uses a proprietary A2DC connector, which limits compatible replacement cables. Also check for play in the yoke suspension and the condition of the rear grille on the driver side, which is exposed by the open-back design. Finally, test both channels through headphones: distortion or a drop in level on one side often indicates a worn tungsten diaphragm.
