The headphones are built around 53 mm drivers developed specifically for this model, fitted with neodymium magnets and a Permendur magnetic circuit. What to check before buying used
Leather earpads harden or crack over time: check their suppleness and confirm there are no cracks that would let bass escape. The 3D headband and its padding should also be checked, as should the condition of the striped ebony earcups, which are prone to impact damage and micro-cracks in the veneer. Finally, test the Y-shaped cable along its full length and flex the jacks to rule out any crackling caused by a fatigued solder joint.
