Description
The CT7.3 LCRS is an in-wall speaker designed for home cinema integration, belonging to B&W's Custom Theater 700 series. It can be positioned indifferently as left, centre, right or surround channel, allowing a coherent multichannel system to be built using a single speaker model repeated across several locations.
It combines a 25mm fabric dome Nautilus tube-loaded tweeter, a 150mm FST midrange with a woven blue aramid fibre cone, and two 200mm woofers with paper/aramid fibre cones. The dedicated midrange, separated from the woofers by crossover frequencies at 350 Hz and 4 kHz, aims for better dialogue intelligibility and more precise definition across the vocal range. A sensitivity of 92 dB SPL (2.83 V, 1 m) and a stated bandwidth of 36 Hz to 28 kHz allow a wide portion of the spectrum to be covered without excessive amplification, with a recommended power of between 50 W and 200 W into 8 ohms. Controlled dispersion, below 2 dB on the reference axis with over 60° horizontally and over 10° vertically, promotes even listening across an extended seating area.
This model is aimed at high-end in-wall home cinema installations, where discreet integration into furniture or walls is sought without sacrificing soundtrack reproduction quality, particularly for multichannel configurations demanding vocal clarity and bass dynamics.

What to check before buying used
On an in-wall speaker of this type, attention should be paid to the condition of the cones of both woofers and the FST midrange, particularly the aramid fibre suspensions, which can crack or come loose over time. Also check the fabric dome of the Nautilus tweeter, which is susceptible to dents or deformation, as well as the correct functioning of the internal crossover. Finally, check the condition of the mounting frame and fixings, which may have suffered during removal.
