Description
The CT7.4 LCRS is a 2-way in-wall speaker from B&W's Custom Theater 700 series, designed to integrate into a cabinet or home cinema unit. Its versatility allows it to occupy the left, centre, right or surround position within the same installation.
The speaker combines a 25 mm soft dome tweeter with Nautilus tube loading, inherited from the know-how of the B&W 700 series, with two 165 mm midrange/bass drivers featuring an aramid fibre cone. The tweeter crossover filter is first order, which limits signal degradation in the top of the spectrum, with a crossover frequency set at 4 kHz. The Flowport bass-reflex loading contributes to bass extension, with a frequency range down to 43 Hz at -6 dB. The sensitivity of 94 dB SPL (2.83 V, 1 m) allows operation with amplifiers of modest power, with the recommended power ranging between 50 W and 150 W into 8 ohms.
This model is intended for those wishing to set up a discreet multichannel home cinema installation, in-wall, without sacrificing sound coherence between the different channels thanks to the use of the same model across several positions.
