B&W CWM663

The CWM663 is an in-ceiling speaker from B&W, designed to be built into a ceiling or wall while delivering a refined sound reproduction. This type of speaker is aimed at those who wish to distribute sound without cluttering the visible space of a room, unlike floorstanding or bookshelf speakers.

The 150 mm midrange/woofer driver uses a blue-coloured Kevlar cone, a material valued for its lightness and rigidity. It is mounted in a moulded chassis that reinforces its mechanical stability, resulting in more precise bass and improved transient response when listening.

The treble section is handled by a 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter, fitted with a Nautilus-type tube loading. This acoustic loading principle aims to limit internal resonances of the dome to refine the rendering of high frequencies. A three-position selector allows the treble level to be adjusted, offering a margin of adaptation depending on the room's acoustics or the listening position.

In terms of installation, the CWM663 benefits from the QuickDogs mounting system as well as a plug-and-play connection, two features designed to simplify fitting into a ceiling or partition without complex tools.

This model is particularly suited to ambient sound systems in the home, discreet home cinemas or rooms where visual aesthetics take priority, the CWM663 disappearing completely once installed.
