Description
The CWM 664 is a 2-way in-ceiling speaker designed for discreet integration into a ceiling or wall, while maintaining refined sound reproduction. Its metal grille can be painted to blend into the décor, and its QuickDogs fixing system combined with plug-and-play connection simplifies installation.
The 150 mm midrange/woofer driver uses a blue Kevlar cone mounted in a reinforced moulded chassis, providing greater rigidity and therefore more precise and responsive bass. The 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter benefits from Nautilus tube loading, a technology designed to limit internal resonances for cleaner treble reproduction. A three-position selector allows the treble level to be adjusted according to the room's acoustics. With a stated frequency response of 45 Hz to 50 kHz, a sensitivity of 87.5 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the speaker accepts a power of 25 to 150 watts.
This model is aimed at those wishing to install discreet in-ceiling sound in a living room or space where the speaker must remain invisible, without sacrificing the quality of midrange, bass and treble reproduction.

What to check before buying used
On this type of in-ceiling speaker, check the condition of the blue Kevlar cone of the midrange/woofer driver, which can become deformed or cracked following an impact during removal. Also check the aluminium dome of the tweeter, which is prone to denting, as well as the correct operation of the three-position treble selector. The QuickDogs fixing system is worth testing to ensure it holds the speaker securely in the cut-out.
