Bluesound Node 2i

The Node 2i is a network audio player designed by Bluesound to integrate digital streaming into an existing hi-fi setup. It connects to an amplifier or sound system and allows streaming of audio files hosted on a NAS, internet radio, as well as the main streaming services compatible with the BluOS platform, such as Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify or Deezer.

The built-in digital-to-analogue converter processes signals up to 32 bits and 192 kHz, with MQA compatibility allowing files encoded in this format to be reproduced at their original resolution. On the wireless side, the device features dual-band Wi-Fi, the AirPlay 2 protocol for streaming from an Apple ecosystem, and Bluetooth aptX HD operating bidirectionally, which allows both receiving and sending an audio signal.

The physical connections complement these wireless links: analogue RCA outputs, coaxial and optical digital outputs, a dedicated subwoofer output, as well as a 3.5 mm headphones output. On the input side, there is an optical socket, an analogue input and a USB-A port, allowing additional external sources to be connected.

This network player is aimed at those who already own an amplifier or hi-fi system and wish to add hi-res streaming without changing their entire setup. It will also suit those considering a multiroom system, as the Node 2i can be paired with other BluOS-compatible Bluesound products to synchronise audio playback across several rooms.
