Bluesound Powernode EDGE

The Powernode Edge is an integrated amplifier with built-in network streaming, designed to bring together a streaming source, a control module and an amplification stage in a single unit. It is intended for anyone wishing to build a complete HiFi system without multiplying separate components, simply by connecting a pair of passive speakers.

The DirectDigital amplification delivers 2 x 40 W RMS at 8 ohms, with an IHF dynamic power of 2 x 80 W at 4 ohms, allowing it to power moderately efficient speakers with headroom in dynamic passages. The signal-to-noise ratio of -91 dBA and THD+N distortion of 0.008% reflect a carefully engineered electronic stage, designed to preserve signal clarity when listening. The unit supports audio streams up to 24-bit/192 kHz as well as MQA-encoded tracks, and natively decodes Dolby Digital content.

The connectivity includes an HDMI eARC input as well as a combined analogue/digital input, allowing a television or turntable to be connected by cable. Control is via the BluOS Controller app, a capacitive touchscreen for quick commands, or via the Siri, Alexa and Google Voice assistants, with network connection over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

This model is aimed at those wishing to start, expand or complete a networked audio setup: the starting point for a compact stereo system, an extension as rear channels for a Bluesound wireless home cinema system, or paired with the brand's wireless subwoofer for a 2.1 setup.
