Description
The Pulse M is a connected speaker from Bluesound, designed to stream music over a network within a BluOS multiroom system. It is controlled from the dedicated app, which allows you to name it, assign it to a room and manage audio settings, while also offering direct access to streaming services via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Its acoustic architecture combines a 133 mm woofer with two 19 mm tweeters mounted at 45 degrees to one another, a layout intended to widen the listening area rather than focus it along a single axis. The whole system is driven by a Smart DSP amplifier delivering 80 W in total (50 W for the woofer, 15 W per tweeter), with a total harmonic distortion rating of 0.030% (THD+N) and a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz. In terms of formats, the speaker supports common compressed files (MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG) as well as the high-resolution formats FLAC, MQA, WAV and AIFF, with native playback up to 192 kHz at 16 to 24 bits, enough to faithfully reproduce files from audiophile platforms.

What to check before buying used
With this type of connected speaker, the main point to check is the Wi-Fi module and network card: verify that pairing and firmware updates via the BluOS app work correctly. Also check that the woofer and both tweeters function properly at high volume, and that there is no crackling related to the DSP amplifier. The external power supply unit must be present and in good condition, as a replacement can be difficult to find outside the Bluesound network.
