What to check before buying used
The leather ear pads of the Beoplay H4 harden or crack over time: check their suppleness and that there is no peeling, bearing in mind that they wear out faster than the aluminium and steel shell. Test the pivot of the headband and earcups, an area where the premium finishes can creak or become loose after several years. Also check the Bluetooth 4.2 pairing and the charge retention of the 600 mAh battery, whose stated 19 h battery life decreases with charge cycles, as well as the proper contact of the cable in passive wired mode.
