Description
Murano is a bookshelf speaker from Cabasse, part of the Artis range. It is the most compact of the coaxial speakers in this range, designed, assembled and inspected in Cabasse's French workshops in Plouzané.
It features the TC23 triaxial driver, a coaxial technology also found on Cabasse's reference systems La Sphère and L'Océan. This driver is paired with a new aluminium waveguide, specially designed to work with Murano's own woofer.
Bass reproduction is handled by a new driver, the 17ND36, developed specifically for this model. Its concave honeycomb-structured cone provides rigidity and damping, allowing large excursions without distortion. It is paired with a long voice coil sitting in a 45 mm gap, within a four-kilogram motor.
The speaker's design draws on Cabasse's anechoic chamber measurement protocol, which takes into account on-axis and 360° measurements. This approach aims for control over directivity and the distribution of sound energy, following the HDSE principle developed by the brand.

The cabinet deserves close inspection of the corners and veneer, which reveal storage conditions, along with a check of the tightness of the connectors on the rear panel.
