Description
The Rialto forms a pair of connected active speakers signed Cabasse, in a compact bookshelf format. The set integrates amplification, digital conversion and wireless connection modules directly into the speakers, removing the need for a separate amplifier or DAC to build a complete Hi-Fi system.
Each speaker combines a 13 cm coaxial midrange/tweeter driver with a 17 cm woofer, designed to offer a wide excursion without the coil leaving the magnetic field, thereby limiting distortion on powerful bass. Coaxial technology, developed by Cabasse since 1952, has the entire sound spectrum emanate from a single point source for coherent sound propagation. Patented DEAP technology applies multi-band dynamic signal processing with feedback loops, using all the available amplification power to reproduce peaks without distortion. A CRCS acoustic correction system rounds out the set, paired with a 32-bit/768 kHz DAC compatible with DSD128.
Connectivity and streaming modes are extensive: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth SBC/AAC, AirPlay 2, as well as compatibility with Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer, Deezer HiFi, Qobuz and vTuner. On the wired connectivity side, there is an RJ-45 port, two optical Toslink inputs, an RCA input, an HDMI eARC input and a USB-A port, as well as a link port allowing the two speakers to be connected optically in case of limited internet network.
This system is aimed at those seeking a compact, connected Hi-Fi setup, capable of reproducing High Resolution recordings with precision, without multiplying the separate components of a traditional system.

What to check before buying used
With this type of active speaker, it is advisable to test all inputs (RCA, Toslink, HDMI eARC, USB-A) as well as the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless modules, which may show malfunctions after several years of use. Proper operation of the link port connecting the two speakers is also worth checking, as is the condition of the coaxial and woofer drivers, which are sensitive to possible wear of the suspensions. Checking recognition of the built-in streaming services (Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz) helps ensure the firmware remains up to date and functional.
