Cabasse Santorin 30

The Santorin 30-200 is a subwoofer from Cabasse, designed to complement a hi-fi installation by bringing deep, musical bass without requiring a large volume. It draws on acoustic solutions originally developed for the flagship La Sphère, adapted here to a more compact format.

Its 30 cm cone features a honeycomb structure, combining lightness and rigidity. This design allows large excursions without distortion or colouration of the sound, resulting in rich, dynamic double basses as well as precise, punchy special effects. The motor combines a powerful magnetic field with a long voice coil mounted on a Kapton former, allowing high sound levels to be reached across a wide frequency range.

The distinctive feature of the Santorin 30-200 lies in its port system: instead of a traditional horizontal port, Cabasse opted for a vertical port radiating close to the floor over 360°. This vertical bass dispersion filters out parasitic noise, reduces internal standing wave effects, and makes the speaker's position in the room less critical. The result is purer, deeper bass reproduction that remains lively and dynamic, with acoustic integration marked by realism and transparency.

This subwoofer is aimed at hi-fi enthusiasts wishing to reinforce the bass of a stereo or home cinema system without sacrificing precision, particularly in rooms where speaker placement against walls is usually problematic.
