Description
The Siltech Classic 220i is an interconnect cable intended to link two audio components via a balanced connection. It belongs to the Classic range from Dutch manufacturer Siltech, recognised for its high-end audio cables using distinctive metal alloys.
This cable stands out through the use of an alloy named G6 silver-gold, a combination of silver and gold designed to carry the audio signal. The conductor insulation is made of PEEK polymer, a polymer material with dielectric properties sought after in quality audio cables. The construction adopts a Balance Twisted Pair geometry, an arrangement intended to limit electromagnetic interference picked up along the signal path.

What to check before buying used
The RCA or XLR connectors deserve careful inspection: an oxidised contact or a solder joint weakened by repeated unplugging degrades the connection, or can even cut out a channel. The shielding and sheath should be examined along their entire length for pinching, sharp bends or crushing marks that could alter the Balance Twisted Pair geometry and therefore its interference rejection. A listening test on both channels, in XLR as in RCA depending on the version, confirms the absence of crackling or signal loss.
