The Siltech Classic Anniversary 550i is an interconnect cable designed to link the components of a high-end hi-fi system, available with XLR or RCA connectors depending on the installation's requirements. What to check before buying used
The XLR or RCA connectors deserve close inspection: oxidised pins or plugs, play in the housings or weakened solder joints degrade contact and therefore the signal transmitted by the G7 alloy. The double coaxial shielding must remain continuous along the entire length, with no pronounced kinks or tight bends that could have crushed the sheath and insulation (EPTFE, polyimide, FEP) through handling over time. A continuity test and a check for the absence of background noise in both channels remain the best indicators of the cable's actual condition.
