Description
The Sonos Sub 4 is a wireless subwoofer designed to complement an existing Sonos system. It does not operate on its own but integrates with the rest of the Sonos ecosystem, adding extra bass to the sound system already in place.
Its architecture is built around two speakers positioned face to face, a principle known as force-cancelling: the opposing movements of the two drivers limit the vibrations transmitted to the cabinet. This design in particular allows the unit to be laid flat, including under a piece of furniture or a sofa, without the subwoofer itself vibrating noticeably.

The rubber feet under the subwoofer are worth checking: if worn or detached, they allow the cabinet to transmit vibrations that the force-cancelling principle is meant to neutralise. It is also worth verifying that the wireless pairing module works correctly and that the unit is still recognised by the Sonos app, as a Sub isolated from any existing system cannot produce any sound on its own.
