The Canton CD 100 is a 2.5-way floorstanding speaker with a bass-reflex enclosure, entirely built in aluminium. This slender, floorstanding format, compact in depth, allows it to be integrated into a living room without taking up significant floor space, while retaining sufficient height for coherent sound projection at seated listening height.
The 80 mm aluminium-cone bass-midrange driver is paired with a 15 mm aluminium dome tweeter, with crossover frequencies set at 400 Hz and then 3,500 Hz: this distribution across three frequency zones shares the workload between the transducers and aims for tonal continuity across the entire covered spectrum, from 50 Hz to 25 kHz. What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the aluminium bass-midrange and tweeter cones, which are sensitive to impacts and visible deformation despite their rigidity, as well as the integrity of the 15 mm tweeter dome, which is particularly exposed.
