Atoll electronique P50, P100

The P50 and P100 cards are part of the range of phono modules offered by Atoll Electronique. These are not standalone units but cards designed to be fitted into compatible Atoll amplifiers and preamplifiers, on the IN and PR series. Their role is to add or upgrade the phono input of an Atoll unit, allowing a turntable to be played without going through an external phono preamplifier.

The P50 corresponds to the phono card already offered by Atoll in its existing range. The P100 goes further: it is an internal MM/MC card built with discrete components, fitted with a separate housing with a selector on the rear panel allowing the cartridge type (MM or MC) as well as the input impedance to be chosen. It incorporates high-end capacitors and benefits from a separate power supply, two features that reflect a design aimed at limiting interference and preserving the quality of the phono signal, which is particularly weak and sensitive to noise.

These cards are aimed at owners of a compatible Atoll amplifier or preamplifier who wish to add a phono input or improve the one already present. The P50 will suit simple use with a standard MM cartridge, while the P100, with its MM/MC compatibility and separate power supply, is intended for more demanding use, particularly with a moving coil (MC) cartridge, which is more sensitive to electrical interference.
