Description
The Cayin Jazz 100 is a valve integrated amplifier built around a single-ended, class A architecture using 805A triodes. It can function as a primary integrated amplifier, as a power amplifier bypassing its preamplifier, or as a preamplifier driving external power amplifiers, giving it a certain versatility within a hi-fi system.
The frequency response extends from 12 Hz to 33 kHz, with a total harmonic distortion of 0.2% at 1 kHz, figures that reflect clean sound reproduction across the entire audible spectrum. What to check before buying used
The 805A valves are wear components: check their operating hours, the absence of micro-cuts or grid noise, and ask whether a recent run-in or replacement has been carried out. Also check the volume potentiometer (scratching when adjusted) and the negative feedback control, which can drift out of adjustment over time. The high-voltage power supply capacitors are worth checking if the unit has seen little recent use, as prolonged storage can affect their forming. Finally, test the headphone jack and the Bluetooth connection to rule out any contact or pairing faults.
