Chord 2Yu

The 2yu is a digital interface from Chord, designed to work exclusively with the 2go streamer / server, from which it cannot be separated. Paired with the latter, it turns the combination into a standalone streamer capable of feeding several types of digital-to-analogue converters and external peripherals, including the same manufacturer's Hugo M scaler.

The 2yu connects directly to the 2go to add extra digital outputs to it: a TOSLINK optical output, an S/PDIF coaxial output and a BNC output, the latter two at 75 ohms, as well as a USB-A output. It features 2000 MIPS of processing power, a built-in sample rate converter and a low-jitter audio phase-locked loop, intended to limit timing instabilities in the digital signal. The unit is compatible with streams up to 32-bit/768 kHz as well as DSD.

Like the Hugo 2, the 2yu carries over Chord's characteristic four multicoloured spherical controls, which handle output selection, power, mute function and level attenuation.

This module is aimed primarily at 2go owners wishing to expand the digital output options of their setup, or at installers looking to deploy a discreet Roon streaming solution in a separate room, as the 2go/2yu duo can be connected directly to an Ethernet port to serve a remote system.

Like the 2go, the 2yu is hand-built in the United Kingdom from aerospace-grade aluminium, following the same processes as the rest of the Chord Electronics range.
