Chord Poly

The Chord Poly is a portable audio streaming module designed to connect directly to the Chord Mojo, whose compact format it shares. Once paired with the latter, it allows music to be streamed from wirelessly connected devices, at home or on the move, whilst leaving signal processing to the Mojo's DAC circuit.

Poly also functions as a standalone player thanks to its Micro SD card slot, which can hold vast music libraries without taking up storage space on a smartphone or tablet. It is controlled entirely remotely via dedicated apps, whether the source is content on the microSD card, a network stream or a library hosted on a NAS.

In terms of connectivity, the device handles Wi-Fi with automatic memorisation of multiple networks, including mobile hotspots, as well as Bluetooth 4.1, AirPlay and DLNA. A hotspot mode is also provided for situations where no network or hotspot is available. In terms of formats, Poly supports high-resolution audio up to 768 kHz in PCM and DSD64 to DSD256, as well as ACC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, OGG Vorbis, ALAC, WMA and MP3 files.

Battery life is provided by a rechargeable LiPo battery offering up to nine hours of playback for four hours of charging, via a fast-charge USB circuit that allows Poly and Mojo to be charged simultaneously.

This streamer is aimed at users already equipped with a Chord Mojo who wish to turn their smartphone or tablet into a high-quality audio source, or who want to listen to their music on the move without relying on limited local storage. It is equally suited to portable use and to integration within a home or in-car audio system fitted with an auxiliary input.
