What to check before buying used
The originally fitted cartridge should have its wear condition checked, as should the alignment of the SK Carbon tonearm, whose two hand-assembled pivots must retain smooth, play-free movement. The drive belt, a typical wear part on this type of turntable, may need replacing after several years. A check of platter stability and playback plane adjustment is also recommended before putting the unit back into service.
