Description
The Clearaudio Unify 9" is a tonearm designed for turntables, built on a unipivot principle with a single-point sapphire bearing. It fits a Clearaudio-standard mounting hole, with a bore diameter of 24.85 mm, and is available in black carbon or silver finish.
Its unipivot construction relies on a single sapphire bearing point, a configuration that limits mechanical friction during playback. The distance between the arm's bearing and the platter spindle is 222 mm, for a total length of 300 mm, dimensions specific to the 9-inch version. What to check before buying used
The unipivot sapphire bearing deserves close inspection: a worn point or excessive lateral play results in tracking instability that is difficult to correct. Also check the condition of the MPC RCA connectors and the Sixtream Super cable, whose insulation can stiffen over time, as well as the absence of play or corrosion at the mounting hole and its bore.
