The Consonance CDS120 is a network player designed for playing high-resolution digital audio files, featuring extensive connectivity to fit into an existing hi-fi system. It acts as a central digital source, capable of receiving and delivering an audio signal via various wired or wireless interfaces.
Its distortion of less than 0.0025% and its signal-to-noise ratio of over 110 dB, measured on the RCA and XLR outputs, reflect a particularly clean output signal, with a low noise floor favourable to the reproduction of the finest nuances. The unit supports DSD formats (DSF, DIFF) as well as common PCM formats such as FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC, allowing it to play a digital music library without prior conversion. What to check before buying used
On a network player of this type, it is advisable to test all digital inputs (USB, coaxial, optical, Bluetooth) as well as both types of analogue outputs to ensure that none show a contact fault or crackling.
