Description
The GT40a from ADL By Furutech is a digital-to-analogue converter intended for music lovers who store their music on a computer's hard drive. It notably allows vinyl records or other analogue sources to be digitised, for archiving or listening to as digital files.
This DAC is based on 24-bit/192 kHz conversion. It succeeds the GT40, from which it inherits all functionality, with one notable improvement: support for an asynchronous USB link on both input and output, still at 24-bit/192 kHz. This asynchronous link contributes to an extended bandwidth, stated as more than 20 Hz in the bass and up to 5 kHz in the treble.
To make recording easier, the GT40a features a toggle switch allowing the selection of a headroom level before clipping (0 dB, 6 dB or 12 dB), to avoid any over-modulation when digitising an analogue source. The unit is housed in a non-magnetic audiophile-grade casing.
