Cyrus 40 CD

The 40 CD is a hi-fi CD player designed by Cyrus, a brand recognised for manufacturing high-end CD players. It incorporates a digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) responsible for converting the digital signal read from the disc into an analogue signal suitable for a hi-fi system.

The conversion core relies on an ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M component, which processes the signal at 32 bits. This conversion architecture aims for detailed signal reproduction, with the goal of low background noise and fidelity to the original signal. Cyrus's engineers have also paid particular attention to the layout of the internal electronic circuits, with the aim of preserving audio signal quality throughout the processing chain.

The power supply of the 40 CD is divided into several distinct sections, in order to separate the processing of digital, analogue and control signals and limit interference between them. Nine voltage regulators distribute the required voltage to each circuit, following a stable power supply approach. The unit is also compatible with Cyrus's 40 PSU external power supply, for those wishing to further isolate the player's power supply.

In terms of connectivity, the 40 CD offers two line-level analogue outputs, a coaxial digital output and an optical digital output, as well as an RJ45 Ethernet socket and a USB A port.
