Cyrus Classic Stream

The Classic Stream is a network player designed by Cyrus to integrate with the brand's Classic range, from which it takes its format and aesthetic. It allows music stored on a NAS, an iTunes library, live radio stations or streaming services to be played, without the need for a physical player.

The unit is built on the BluOS platform, developed by a third party to ensure its longevity and the addition of new streaming features. Digital-to-analogue conversion is handled by Cyrus's QXR DAC, built around the ESS ES9038Q2M chipset and complemented by a high-speed analogue buffer stage, with the overall component layout having been optimised. The Classic Stream also incorporates an MQA decoder and rendering engine, an end-to-end technology intended to reproduce the signal as approved in the studio. A dedicated port allows connection of the PSX-R2 external power supply, whose current is routed to the post-DAC analogue stages to reduce noise.

In terms of software compatibility, the unit works with Roon, which centralises music regardless of its location or format, as well as with Tidal and Qobuz services. AirPlay 2 support enables multiple players to be networked within the same home, in synchronised or independent playback depending on the room, with control from an iOS device.
