Description
The Hark III is a HiFi rack designed specifically to house Cyrus equipment. It stands out for its height-adjustable shelves, allowing the configuration to be tailored to the number and size of the units to be installed.
The unit is supplied with four shelves and can accommodate up to eight per rack, with additional pairs available separately. Its construction is entirely metal. Mechanical isolation relies on a material developed by Cyrus, Cyruthane, applied to the triangular mounting points of each shelf: it is designed to absorb micro-vibrations transmitted to the rack in order to limit their impact on the operation of the units placed on it.
The Hark III also incorporates a cable and power block management system, accessible from the front via a full-height door on the unit. There is enough space to house an 8-outlet linear power strip, helping to keep the installation tidy.

What to check before buying used
The triangular mounting points on the shelves deserve close inspection: this is where the Cyruthane, Cyrus's own vibration isolation material, is applied, and it can lose its flexibility over time. Also check the levelness and fixing of the adjustable shelves, as well as the condition of the metal structure (rust marks, dents, chipped paint depending on the black or silver finish). The full-height front door, which gives access to cable management, should open and close without play or creaking at the hinges.
