Dali Menuet Black HG
Compact Dali Menuet Black HG bookshelf speaker, 2-way bass-reflex design with textile dome tweeter and wood fibre woofer, for audiophile listening in small spaces.
Description
The Dali Menuet Black HG is a compact bookshelf speaker of bass-reflex design, conceived to deliver refined listening within a small footprint. It can be placed on a shelf or wall-mounted thanks to two guides provided at the rear of the cabinet, and its bass port, located on the connection side, allows it to be positioned close to a wall without degrading sound quality.
This 2-way speaker pairs a 28 mm soft textile dome tweeter with an 11 cm wood fibre woofer, with a crossover frequency set at 3,000 Hz. The frequency response extends from 59 Hz to 25 kHz (+/- 3 dB), with the bass-reflex port tuned to 63 Hz to complement the bass register despite the compact size of the cabinet. With a sensitivity of 86 dB, a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a maximum level of 105 dB, it accepts a power handling of between 20 and 100 W, which requires an amplifier capable of driving a 4 ohm load.
This Dali Menuet Black HG is intended for use in a small room or as a complement to a main system, for a shelf, cabinet or wall installation rather than floor placement. Its purpose is to reproduce a detailed signal within a compact listening space, rather than to fill large volumes.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the suspensions on the 11 cm woofer: hardened, cracked or detached foam or rubber affects bass reproduction and indicates a component in need of replacement. Also inspect the textile tweeter dome, which is prone to deformation and tearing from rough handling, as well as the cabinet and HG veneer around the bass-reflex port, particularly exposed to knocks and moisture on this compact format. A test at moderate volume across the full frequency range can reveal any rubbing noise or localised distortion.
